Hey guys,

I usually put most of my focus on cash games and the occasional SnG on the side but I've been enjoying multi-table tournaments lately. Besides winning a few hundred on Bodog and UB tonight, I actually won a satellite into the UB $200K guarantee on Sunday at 6PM EST. This is a fun freeroll sort of opportunity for me as I have the bankroll for these biggies but rarely would take the plunge to invest a couple of hundred into a single tournament. I also feel like I'm playing to my full potential right now in tournaments. If you're going to be playing also, post or drop me a PM. If you want to railbird me, drop me a PM and I'll send you my screen name. Either way, I'll post my results on Sunday evening.

Thanks, Danny. While this event will likely feature much better play, the overall play is so poor in online tournaments that you can do fairly well simply by allowing others to make mistakes and playing good cards. That and assuming that they actually hold up. Hopefully, I'll be fine. Either way I'm sure I'll have fun. Very Happy

Laughing Because I didn't return to the forum jumping up and down, I'm sure that most of you assumed that it didn't go too well. I lasted about 2 hours without playing any big pots. With the blinds reaching 100-200, I managed to get all-in heads-up with pocket Kings. The caller, who had pocket Queens, had me covered. He was the only one with a diamond with the 4th diamond hit on the river so that was that.

After playing this event, I have to gripe about the structure a bit. When you're playing for a $40,000 top prize, 10 minute blinds simply won't do. Many poker sites simply structure this biggies like any other daily tournament - something that I feel is a mistake. With blinds moving by this quickly, skilled players have less of an edge over the tremendous luck factor when blinds reach that massive stage. Why move everything along so quickly? Give patient tournament players a chance to accumulate some chips. Having to start thinking about spots to move in after 90 minutes of play is ludicrous for a big tournament. Learn from birck-and-mortar events and SLOW IT DOWN!

I've managed to do well this month in cash games and come in the money in several tournaments. Unfortunately, none of them were as substantial as this one would have been. Wink

I agree 100%. I actually though some sites structured big tournaments with 15 or 20 minute blinds? 10 minutes is definately too short.

Actually, I think that I was wrong. I think that it was actually 15 minutes. Still, I would like to see them double the stacks and make the blinds at least 30 minutes.
