Hello Everyone
Just registered on this forum so I had to write about the Bad Beat tales I've read about on the forum, and on other forums too.
I've only recently started to learn about Holdem Poker and if I was going to classify myself I'm a real novice. But what I do know about Holdem already is that Fish, especially crazy Fish are dangerous to your wealth.
You can analyse how the cards developed for ever and a day, but if you lay your money down then expect the worst.
You will only ever win against these guys by having patience. Grinding them into the ground by being overly cautious is the way to go. Just because this guy is firing off bets like a automatic machine gun doesn't mean he can't hit a great draw.
I think little and often is better than believing that because you think this guy is a fish you can beat him. Going all in is the quickest way to lose your money to him. If there is any chance this guy has a better draw than you be overly cautious. I think trying to imagine this guy is Doyle Brunson would definitely change your view of the cards in front of you.
I do realise you have to bet, and sometimes you have no option but to raise your bets (or do you, I guess that comes down to position), but blindly believing that this guy hasn't a clue about what he's doing is not that far away from him believing that if he just keeps on betting he's bound to hit something.
In the long run the maniac gambler will lose, that's just the odds over time that will take care of him, but when he sits down in front of you caution is the WORD!!!
Of course I could be wrong, and what little I know about the game might not amount to a hill of beans, but I might be right, I suppose that's your call!!!
Anyway, thanks for reading this.
May you God walk with you.
Steven.
PS ...... I had these pocket Aces and this guy had been raising like mad so I thought I'd raise him, well you wouldn't believe what happened next... |
