Las Vegas
April 5, 2006 (written by Beat The Fish)
It's the
biggest time of the year for poker
players. The 2006 World Series of
Poker is set to kick off on Tuesday,
June 27 with the first in a series
of 45 events leading up to the
$10,000 Championship Event. The
opening event will be a $1,500
Buy-In No-Limit Hold'em tournaments
which is expected to draw in upwards
of 2,000 players.
Harrah's
is ready for the onslaught of
players as the Rio is again host to
the biggest poker tournament series
in the world. The field, and hence
prize pools, should be even greater
this year and it will be interesting
to see who takes the bracelets home
this year. Expect some of your
favorite professionals to crush the
fields in many events while we no
doubt will hear some new poker names
rising to stardom.
