Several Major Live Poker Tournaments
To Come
January 23, 2006 (written by Beat The Fish)
As I
write this article, Scotty Nguyen
holds a commanding lead going into
the final day of the Gold Strike
World Poker Open. This is a World
Poker Tour event so you'll get to
catch the action later this year on
TV. They broke for the day with
Nguyen holding over 2.1 million
chips, nearly twice that of Michael
Mizrachi. Other competitors who made
the final 6 include Raul Paez, An
Tran, Gavin Smith, and Bau Le. The
tournament will conclude tomorrow
and we'll bring you the results.
It's nice to see Scotty (the 1998
WSOP Champion) back on top... we
haven't heard from him for a while.
The Gold
Strike is just one of a slew of
major poker tournaments coming up in
the next month. Other large events
include a WSOP Circuit event at the
Grand Tunica next week, the L.A.
Poker Classic at Commerce Casino
next month, the Borgota Winter Poker
Open, and the Seneca World Poker
Classic. Most of these are major WPT-sponsored
events and should have massive prize
pools. As always, we'll keep you
posted with all of the results as
the events finish up.
