HIGH STAKES POKER RETURNS FOR SECOND SEASON

Televised High Stakes Cash Game Returns to GSN

June 2, 2006 (written by Beat The Fish)

GSN's High Stakes Poker is set to return for its second season, debuting on June 5. If you missed the series the first time, it focuses on high-stakes no-limit cash games as opposed to the centerpiece of every other poker TV show - tournaments. Players like Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, and Barry Greenstein buy-in with their own money (a minimum of $100,000) and can leave whenever they wish.

New episodes air on Mondays at 9pm and then again at 2am for us night owls. I highly recommend this program and it became my favorite hidden gem last season for its uniqueness, drama, and its rare look into the biggest cash games in the world. Looking over the list of participants this time around, the most interesting additions should be Mike Matusow and Gus Hansen. Also, the venue has switched from The Golden Nugget to The Palms Casino.
