Poker Room Guarantees $5,000,000 for
Online Poker Tournament

The
Ongame online poker network has
announced what I believe to be the
largest online poker tournament in
history. The event will have a $5
million guaranteed prize pool
meaning that the winner will take
home at least $1,000,000. Players on
the network will have the
opportunity to play in
supersatellites for the main event,
which should have a buy-in of about
$5,000. Satellite buy-ins will start
at $1. The tournament should take
place in late August and we'll keep
you posted on developments.
Larger
online poker sites participating in
the tournament include Poker Room
and Hollywood Poker, who are both a
part of Ongame. The tournament will
follow the style of many online
events these days: play will be
stopped when 5 tables remain and the
remaining players will be flown to
complete the event live in Spain. It
sounds like one heck of an event...
