Poker Stars Reaches 100,000 Online

For
years,
Party Poker has dominated the
title of "#1 Online Poker Room"
because of their massive player
traffic. Many players would
gravitate towards the site because
it is what they've heard of or saw
on television. Move over, Party.
In the
last week, another online poker
giant,
Poker Stars, can now claim to
have the most player traffic. They
reached a milestone with 100,000
concurrently online players, which
is unheard of in the online poker
world. While this does include many
freeroll and play money players,
every other site also includes these
players in their count. Also fueling
the fire is the addition of a 100%
bonus offered to players through
PokerStars marketing codes.
The
surge in traffic is in no small part
due to having the last 3 WSOP
Champions on their side and sending
about 20% of the total World Series
participants.
Poker Stars has always been
friendly to high-stakes players and
tournament regulars and has an
attractive software interface. On a
personal note, they're in my top 3
overall. Congratulations,
Poker Stars.
