2006 World Series of Poker Main
Event Final Table Will be Broadcast Live
April 5, 2006 (written by Beat The Fish)
While
ESPN has been the official
broadcaster of the
WSOP since 1993,
they haven't really done much with
the brand until hole-card cameras
and updated production value
dominated the show in 2003. This
week, Harrah's and ESPN came to an
agreement which extends ESPN's right
to televise the WSOP Main Event and
other events through 2010.
Also
interesting was the announcement
that, for the first time, fans will
be able to watch the Main Event
final table play out live and
unedited. It will be available for
$24.95 as a Pay-Per-View through
your cable company as well as aired
from the ESPN site. The final table
is scheduled for August 10.
