CD POKER
COUPON CODE FOR $20 FREE:
BIGFISH. CD Poker
is now giving our visitors $20 free when they make any deposit of
$20 or more using our bonus code. This is an instant cash bonus that
will be available to use at the tables immediately. New
players will also receive a 150% up to $500 bonus on their
gameplay.

Overall:
4/5
CD Poker is
another site on the large Playtech network so the traffic and
promotions are already well-established. Most of these sites have
traditionally offered large promotions to entice new players, and
CD Poker does
have a number of perks for new and regular players. I also give them
credit for offering our site the special $20 instant bonus and an
increased 150% bonus. This shows respect for new players coming from
our site as there are no stringent cashout requirements. Right now,
we're the only site offering this exclusive bonus.
Overall,
CD Poker has made some improvements over the past few months. Since the
international traffic how grown the tournaments have improved with decent
player showings during peak hours. I would mostly recommend this
site for players looking for a largely inexperienced player base,
new players looking to get a little extra instantly on their first
deposit, or bigger bankrolls looking for a large maximum bonus.
Bonus (150%
up to $500 + $20 Extra) and Promotions:
5/5
In terms of deposit bonuses,
I give CD
Poker credit for giving our visitors what they want: an upfront
bonus as soon as you make a deposit. No bizarre terms, no convoluted raked hand system, just cash
in your account.
Right now, only players coming from our site can
receive the $20 free on any deposit of $20 or more. You can use
coupon code BIGFISH to ensure that you receive the increased offer.
The extra $20 is a little way of
rewarding new players in a much better way than the typical BS you
have to go through to see any bonus money on other sites. Minimum deposits start at
$20.
In addition to that, our
CD Poker visitors receive an increased 150%
deposit bonus, good up to $500. The free $20 is good for smaller players
while the $500 bonus can be huge for bigger bankrolls as you clear
it much faster at the larger tables. They also offer a 50% reload bonus to returning players,
which is a nice perk if you were going to redeposit anyway.
Other
promotions at CD
Poker include a couple of Sit 'n Go jackpot bonuses: $25,000 to the winner of 6 consecutive 6-player $20
events and a $15,000 prize to the winner of 5 consecutive 10-player
$5 events. Their "Dirty Dozen" Sit 'n Go promotion
gives a $2,000 prize to winners of consecutive $2 12-player
tournaments. While it is extremely difficult to win this many
tournaments in a row, it’s there if you want to take a shot.
Fish:

4/5
The
CD Poker
marketing scheme seems to go after new players and this is a good
thing for experienced hands looking to try out a new site. Since
these players are mostly new to poker, I find that they play too
many hands and stick with them without improving. If you can punish
maniacs and calling stations for their
thin draws when you have a strong hand, you can often build large
pots simply by betting for value.
Players who are looking for action with their pocket Kings and
Aces shouldn't be let down, although you should consider raising
your premium hands more than normal to thin the field and give your
hand a better chance of standing up at showdown. Since you have to
make a decision fairly quickly at
CD Poker, I think that it
probably flusters new players (especially in no-limit games) into
making poor decisions.
Tournaments:
4/5
Typically, the tournament
traffic hasn't been very high at
CD Poker but the number of players is growing
on the network. They’re offering some better weekly tournaments such
as $10,000 or $20,000 guarantees. Once a month, you can play in a
$25,000 guarantee and occasionally they host a $100,000 event or
even a $1,000,000 guarantee at times. For
your first 90 days as a new player you can play small $100 freeroll events that are only open
to beginners.
The tournaments here are mostly suited for players who
prefer a smaller tournament field. The most popular events have
buy-ins
under $10, but they can reach at least 100-200 players during peak
hours. The tournament schedule at
CD Poker
is pretty easy to understand since they
have several events that take place every day or every week at the
same time. Some
of their best tournaments include a $1,500 or more guaranteed
prize pool events for a small $10 buy-in. Since the ring game
traffic is inexperienced, it largely spills over into the
tournaments and observant players should be able to consistently finish well.
Software:
4/5
The
CD Poker
software has a decent package both in terms of graphics and features.
Each player is able to choose their own avatar at the table,
although the choices are pretty limited. At the table, the cards are
easy to see and the table visuals are pleasant. I always thought
that the old 3-D view option was fun, but that was removed ages ago. I
do like the hand
history feature, which uses a graphical interface as opposed to the
typical tough-to-read text layout on many of the larger sites.
Another positive is the "all in" button built right into the
software, which I'm sure helps to loosen up the games and help
inexperienced players bluff away their chips when they can't decide
which action to take. The lobby is easy to follow, but I would like
to see them remove empty tables from ring game lists as it can be
tedious to wade through.
Payouts:
4.5/5
CD Poker is on the
Playtech network, a
very financially stable company. Cashouts are handled quickly and
you only need to wait about 24 hours to receive a NETeller
withdrawal.
Customer Service:
4.5/5
Customer service is one of
CD Poker's
strong points, as they offer live support most times of the day,
telephone support, and direct e-mail support. Most of the time,
you'll receive a quick response. One feature that users might
like is the stand-by chat support if you are having any deposit
issues. I usually just stick with the live chat since I’m antisocial
– I’ll take any opportunity not to have to pick up the phone.
Player Traffic
When I first tried
CD Poker out
full no-limit ring games were difficult to find at the middle stakes.
Fortunately, the site traffic is improving and you can often fun at
least a full $1/2 or $2/4 game going on. Interestingly, fixed-limit ring
games seem to be more popular on this network. Limit players can
usually find at least a shorthanded $5/10 active at almost any
time.
Tournament traffic is still just average, but they have improved in
terms of number of events and prize pool guarantees.
Best Features
Exclusive deposit bonus. The instant
$20 is a show of good faith from the poker room and gives your
bankroll a little boost right off the bat. If you play medium-sized
games and have a bankroll, the maximum bonus can be a blessing.
Busy fixed-limit tables. While many
sites are being dominated by no-limit ring games, fixed-limit tables
remain popular here.
Soft no-limit competition. This site
tends to attract newer players who play substandard cards.
Game Selection: Hold 'em,
Omaha
Limits: Limit: 2c/4c up
to $10/$20 No-Limit: 2c/4c up to $5/$10
Deposit Methods: NETeller,
Citadel, MoneyBookers, Instadebit, Click2Pay, major credit cards, wire transfers,
and cashier's checks.
Minimum Deposit:
$20
Tips:
Like most loose online sites, I recommend a tight-aggressive style
of play at CD
Poker. As Doyle Brunson recommends in his Super System books, you
usually want to be playing the opposite style that most of the table
is playing. With most players willing to gamble it up at this site,
I would tighten up and play strong cards. Be willing to snap them
off if they're on a draw, and certainly make them pay to do it.
In
no limit play, you'll want to bet at least the size of the pot with
two suited or connected cards showing on the board. This will
statistically make it a mistake for your opponents to call with a
straight or flush draw. You'll be giving them 2:1 odds on hitting
their straight or flush on the turn, but they're only a little less
than a 4:1 favorite to hit it by the next card.
If your opponents weakly call
your bet, you're most likely correct in your assumption that he's on
his draw. I would suggest betting even more on the turn if a blank
falls to protect your hand. I have learned to make my opponent pay
a hefty price at CD
Poker to draw after many under-bets on the turn trying to
keep him in the pot. Unfortunately, I was just giving him better
odds to stay in with his draw.
