Overall:  3/5

Crazy Poker attracts a lot of players initially because of the free $10 to new accounts. It's a neat offer from them, as it allows you to get a feel for their real money games without making any initial investment. Aside from the free cash, it's a pretty good site on its own and is a member of the large Prima player network. The daily freerolls are very nice with big prize pools and the games tend to be very soft.

This network hosts some of my favorite no-limit ring games, as I usually do very well on them against the largely European player base. I'm also impressed by their decision to continue to allow U.S. citizens to play at the tables.

Bonus (40% up to $40) and Promotions:   3.5/5

The most popular promotion is the free $10 just for opening a new account. It's a neat idea to stimulate their games, and you'll find some pretty crazy (no pun intended) tables at the lower limits. Note that you'll have to e-mail their support team to get the free $10.

They also give an extra 40% on your first deposit, which is good considering the low clearing requirements. You can get up to $40, so this bonus works best for smaller bankrolls. Crazy Poker also offers bad beat jackpots and lucky hand jackpots, which award winners of random hands with prizes.

Fish:   3.5/5

The fish at Prima site Crazy Poker aren't the normal push-and-shove maniacs. You'll mostly find weak European players at the ring games, and the no-limit tables are especially soft. Most of the time, you won't have to worry about being bullied around the table and can take your time to play the hands you want.

Many of the players are calling stations and will pay you off with thin draws. Sometimes, I find them going all-in and after I call them with my top set I wonder what they were thinking drawing to second pair. They sure seem to hit the wrong button a lot on this site. Hey, whatever works to keep filling the tank...

Tournaments:   4/5

The tournament traffic is fair on Crazy Poker, attracting about 200 players at peak times to popular events. The exception to this is their guaranteed weekly tournaments, which draw more players. Probably their best offering is the weekly $100,000 guaranteed tournaments as it only has a $55 buy-in. Even tough you'll typically be playing against 2,000 or more players you do get a good equity on your initial investment.

Other guaranteed events include a $1,000 tournament for $3 and a $3,000 guaranteed for $10. The $1,000 freerolls are also nice and because entrance is limited to those who've played raked hands over the previous 24 hours the field is much thinner than typical freerolls.

Software:   4/5

The Crazy Poker software isn't terribly complex, but it has a nicely muted color scheme and decent graphics. The table view is a typical "bird's eye view" and works well enough. The two biggest positives to the software is the game speed and the table customizations. Because the cards are dealt out quickly, there isn't much lag in between hands. This also makes for less frustration waiting for your second hole card to appear.

The table customizations are easy to work and allow you to remove the large and annoying chat bar on the right-hand side. Another interesting customization is the ability to highlight players in either red or green depending on if they still have cards. You can also view all actions by each player at different stages of the hand.

US Payouts:   4/5

Crazy Poker is owned by the Crazy Vegas casino brand, which is a very popular and financially stable company. Payouts can be sent back to your EcoCard account or directly to your bank account via ACH.

Customer Service:   4.5/5

I usually take advantage of live chat support, if offered, and I like that Crazy Poker has it. You don't have to wait long to speak with someone, and they can usually handle the problem. Other than that, they offer telephone and e-mail support.

Player Traffic

The amount of ring game players doesn't usually fall below 3,000 or so and microlimit games are always filled up. Shorthanded games are pretty popular on the network, and during peak hours you can find some pretty big no-limit tables filled up. Tournament traffic is also very good with multiple events per hour.

Best Features

-Easy deposit bonus. You only need to play 5 raked hands per $1 of bonus, so you should easily earn the $40 in one or two sessions.

-Weak competition. When I play no-limit here, the competition is the best combination you can have: they either won't fight back or will call you down on thin draws.

-Busy tournaments. Their guaranteed tournaments are pretty busy and the $100,000 guaranteed is a good deal.

Game Selection: Hold 'em, Omaha, 7 card stud, 5 card stud

Limits: Limit: 5c/10c up to $100/$200     No-Limit: 5c/$10c up to $10/$20

Deposit Methods: NETeller, Firepay, Instadebit, Click2Pay, UseMyBank, MoneyBookers, Delta, ECO, and major credit cards.

Minimum Deposit: $10

Tips: When you play at a poker room that has a lot of calling stations and not a whole lot of maniacs, like Crazy Poker, there are certain steps that you can take to ensure maximum profit. The basic definition of a calling station is a player who usually won't take control of the hand. They'll leave the betting up to you, and will probably just call if they hit anything on the flop. That includes making any pair or improving to a straight or flush draw.

Calling stations usually also like to keep calling you down when they're holding any pocket pair. Tend to bluff these players less often, and bet into them when you make a medium-to-strong hand. If you're holding top pair or even top two pair, there is nothing worse then having a weak player come over the top when he hit the case deuce for a set on the river. You also need to be careful with this type of player, as they will smooth call their draws to straights or flushes and then turn the value bet around on you when they hit. Be wary of a calling station who suddenly makes a big bet.
