"I want to play online poker using my checking account. What are my options?"

Despite the constant restructuring of online poker's payment processors, there are at least a couple of options remaining for eCheck poker deposits. Most poker sites are working towards accepting eCheck poker deposits in the future but the selection is currently limited. Still, players with only a checking account do have poker site options, which are listed below.

E-checks are essentially electronic checks processed by the poker room. By providing your account and routing numbers through the poker room cashier, funds are processed through the ACH network and debited from your existing checking account within 7-10 days. Players are able to use their eCheck deposits immediately. For players without a credit card or other e-wallet account, eCheck poker is one of the most convenient deposit options.

Advantages of eCheck Poker Deposits:

Available to all US players.

No need for a separate e-wallet. Virtually every player has a personal checking account. With eCheck poker deposits you only need to provide existing banking details.

Instant processing. eChecks are processed through the poker cashier immediately without verification delays.

No fees. Most third-party e-wallets charge absurd fees for depositing and withdrawing. Poker rooms that accept eChecks typically don't charge any additional fees.

Better cashouts. Most eCheck deposits can also be cashed out directly back to your checking account, avoiding excessive paper check delays and bank hassles.

Disadvantages:

Availability is very limited.

Cashouts have to wait until eCheck clears 7-10 days later.
