The World Series of Poker -
Where to Qualify Online

Click here for 2007 WSOP satellites
Here you will find our favorite picks
for online poker rooms that offer satellites for the World Series of
Poker. Keep in mind that it is still early in the year so many poker
rooms have yet to unveil their WSOP qualifiers. Expect plenty of
competition for your satellite dollars as tournament time approaches
this summer.

We like
the way that
Pacific has been handling their
WSOP satellites. If you don't mind
qualifying through a few levels, you
can start your quest at $2
multi-table tournaments here.
Occasionally, they Satellites for
the main qualifier go up to $27,
which I actually find to be the best
deal. One out of every five players
qualify, so if you play smart you're
actually getting better equity and a
better shot of making the money than
typical tournaments. The direct
satellite has a $125 entry and 1 out
of about 100 will qualify for the
WSOP. This site also features the
worst online competition that you'll
find, so they may be a good choice
to try to qualify from. At times
they even run freerolls for seats
into the main satellite event. Other
prizes may be given out as cash as
well. You can

In the last 3+ years,
Poker Stars has become
synonymous with the World Series of
Poker. Both Chris Moneymaker and
Greg Raymer won the Main Even after
qualifying at the online poker site,
and Joe Hachem signed on with them
after his win in 2005. Now the
largest online poker room in terms
of active players, they’re notorious
for sending their satellite
qualifiers in massive numbers. This
year shouldn’t be any different and
you can expect them to send 20-25%
of the total entrants. They've begun
to hold their numerous satellites
and you can either qualify in Player
Point satellites or cash-entry
events as low as $2. You

Bodog is another online poker
room that has plenty of WSOP
satellites running throughout the
year. They also start their
qualifiers at the micro-limits:
$1.50 is the lowest level. By
continuing to place well you can
work your way up through several
stages until you make it to the main
qualifying event. Of course, you can
also buy-in to the main feeder to
the WSOP, but if you're on a super
limited budget or just like a
challenge you can try to do it for
even less through the
"micro-satellites". Again, between
their ring games and tournaments
they're one of the loosest sites you
can play at.

Doyle's Room is one of my
favorite "niche" sites - mostly
because of the terrible players on
the shared network. They've just
started holding World Series of
Poker satellites weekly in both
freezeout and rebuy format. The
rebuy tournament has a $198 buy-in
with unlimited rebuys and an
optional add-on at the end of the
initial period. Since
the rebuy event will have a greater
prize pool, it will also give out
more entry seats. If you're
interested, they also hold World
Poker Tour and National Heads Up
Poker Championship satellites. You

Pretty secure in its top 3 position
of largest online poker rooms, one
of the best aspects of
Paradise
Poker is the tournament offerings.
They've also begun to offer
satellites for this year's WSOP, and
I like their structure a lot. They
have some even smaller events, but I
recommend the $50 starter events. If
you finish in one of the top spots
from there, you'll have a seat at
the $500 event. With the larger
buy-in, more seats are available and
you have a much better shot at
actually winning a seat. You

Besides their usual supersatellite
WSOP entry events that cost anywhere
from $100 to $500 to enter,
Full Tilt is running an
interesting promotion this year in
which they’re giving away 100 WSOP
seats. You can’t buy into a
tournament to win a seat at the
qualifier – you can only get it by
playing at the site. Once you earn
enough player points, you are
automatically qualified for a huge
monthly freeroll that awards 20
seats to “The Big One”. If you play
regularly on the site, this can be a
nice little extra incentive.
Multi-table qualifiers for the cash
buy-in satellites begin at $4.40. You
can

Party Poker is one of the
obvious choices for World Series of
Poker satellites since their player
traffic is still quite massive. The
lowest you can begin your quest at
is $2 which will get you into the
first qualifier for the $55 event.
You can then win a seat into the
daily $215 tournament which directly
awards seats to the Main Event.
Besides multi-table qualifiers,
they’re using their unique Step
Single-Table Tournaments for the
promotion. You can begin at the $11
initial step, and by finishing in
the top places work your way up to
the fifth step where a WSOP seat is
finally awarded. If you place well
but don’t win the event, you get a
free shot for the same level
tournament. You
can
click here to visit Party Poker.
