The World Series of Poker -
Results by Year

While
World Series of Poker Champions
(those that win the annual $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event)
receive the greatest attention, recognition, and prize money, there
are numerous events played at the WSOP every year besides the Main
Event. Winners of any World Series of Poker event receive a coveted
gold-and-diamond bracelet, which is probably the top fantasy dreamt
of by poker players around the world. With the enormous popularity
these tournaments have gained over the past few years, there are now
over 40 individual events in different poker variations.
Prize money will of course reign supreme
for the Championship Event, but with secondary events attracting
more entrants than ever, players can win nearly $1,000,000 for wins
in their choice of poker variants. In Bad Beats and Lucky Draws,
Phil Hellmuth perhaps put it best when he painted this picture: from
the day you win a World Series event, in every cardroom and casino
in the world, by every poker player and fan alike, you'll forever be
known as a poker champion.
