The World Series of Poker -
2006 Schedule
It's amazing how far this ragged little
meeting of poker players has come since the heydays of 1970. For
2006, there will be 44 events of various poker styles - mainly Texas
Hold'em. The Main Event in 2005 attracted over 5,600 hopefuls and
crowned the entire table millionaires. This year, Harrah's expects
to reach 8,000 Main Event players, probably pushing the top prize
over $10 million. It'll be so large that the opening day will
actually be split into 4 days.
