World Series of Poker has prepared an extensive schedule of online poker events to start broadcasting on the GGPoker platform on Saturday, May 1. The WSOP Super Circuit Online Series is scheduled to run from May 1 to May 30 with a whopping $100 million prize pool.
However, these are not the only events the WSOP and GGPoker will collaborate on. Fans can also expect to see:
- WSOP Super Circuit Online Series — May 1 to May 30 on GGPoker
- WSOP Online 2021 (US) — July 1 to Aug 1 on WSOP.com
- WSOP Online 2021 (International) — Aug 1 to Sept 12 on GGPoker
- WSOP Las Vegas Main Event satellites — Aug 1 to Oct 1
- WSOP Winter Online Super Circuit — Dates TBD on GGPoker
What to Expect From the Tournaments
Each tournament winner will receive a WSOP Circuit gold ring, meaning a total of 18 such rings will be awarded for the duration of the tournament.
On top of that, cash game specialists will be awarded an additional two WSOP gold rings for the first time. Leaderboards for the Pot-Limit Omaha-5 and No-Limit Hold’em will determine who gets to sit at the two invite-only finale events.
The previously anticipated WSOP 2021 online series will offer players the chance to win WSOP gold bracelets. This event is open to US players on WSOP.com from July 1 to August 1. International players can enter the same tournament on the GGPoker platform from August 1 to September 12.
The much-awaited $10,000 Main Event (the WSOP No-Limit Hold’em World Championship) will start on November 4, 2021, if the circumstances allow it. The event is set to occur in Las Vegas at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, but it will also be hosted on both WSOP and GGPoker online platforms beginning August 1.
Avid poker fans can also expect to see the WSOP Winter Online Super Circuit later in the year. It will be hosted on the GGPoker platform, with exact dates yet to be confirmed.
More About the Events
Director of the World Series of Poker, Gregory Chochon, said:
“The bar has been set with last year’s record-breaking series, but we’re hoping to raise it even higher this year. One of our goals is to provide as many people the chance to become champions as possible. However, we know not everyone can or is comfortable traveling yet, so continuing a robust online bracelet offering in 2021 is a must.”
On the other side, the head of poker operations at GGPoker, Steve Preiss, announced:
“When GGPoker & WSOP partnered in 2020, we broke world records. Our plans for 2021 are to offer even more to our customers. With massive tournaments, WSOP gold bracelets & rings, and a route into the live WSOP Main Event in November, we hope players will love what we have in store for them.”
