Eli Elezra Inducted into Poker Hall of Fame

Eli Elezra 2021 Poker Hall of Fame Shortlist
Eli Elezra is the 2021 inductee in the Poker Hall of Fame, joining legends of the poker world like Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson and even Wild Bill Hickok.

Eli Elezra has been voted into the Poker Hall of Fame. The 60-year-old poker player was nominated last month amongst other legends in the game, like Antonio Esfandiari, Matt Savage and Betrand Grospellier.

Elezra’s Poker Career

With a long and a fruitful career in the poker world, Eli Elezra has amassed over $4.6 million in poker winners and has won four WSOP bracelets.

He only got involved in the poker scene in the early 90s, after leaving the Israeli army and moving to Las Vegas – and won his first major poker tournament in 2004 at the Mirage Poker Showdown. Many poker fans will recognize him from televised poker games, as Elezra has appeared in six seasons of High Stakes Poker and a number of Poker After Dark Episodes.

At 60 years old, Elezra continues to crush the game. In the 2021 WSOP, he cashed in seven events and landed himself at 3 final tables. Earlier this year, he placed first at the $10,000 8-Game Mix event in the PokerGO Tour – showing that he’s still got what it takes to take down big tournaments.

Poker Hall of Fame Bounty Event

The announcement was made during the Hall of Fame Bounty event at this year’s World Series of Poker. In a unique tournament format, all Hall of Fame members competing in the event come with a bounty that is equal to the year that they were inducted – on top of one special $10,000 bounty attached to the 2022 WSOP Master of Ceremonies Vince Vaught

All of the Poker Hall of Fame members who took part were eliminated on the first day.

Heading into Day 2, the chip leader is Marc Rivera with 72 bid blinds. However, Jerry Won and Payam Karami are not very far behind with 70 big blinds and 63 big blinds respectively.

Poker Hall of Fame Members

Elezra is now the 60th member to join the Poker Hall of Fame. He joins some of the most talented players and influential names in the poker world like Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey and Chris Moneymaker. To be inducted, he was voted in by Hall of Fame’s 32 living members.

This year’s field of nominees was a very competitive group – and, we’re excited to see who will make the shortlist next year.
