On April 4th, WSOP.ca will go live in Ontario with an online gaming license from the AGCO. It will be one of several sites offering players in Ontario a new place to play poker online.

In two weeks, several online gaming sites will be going live with licenses from the AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario), and The World Series of Poker will be part of the influx of online casinos in Canada’s most populous province. WSOP.ca will be the product of GGPoker and the World Series of Poker, bringing players a top-quality online poker experience.

What’s Available on WSOP.ca

Players who sign up WSOP.ca will be able access tournaments and satellites, and they will be enrolled in the Caesars rewards program. In addition to online bonuses, the program is known for giving away land-based rewards – so players will be able to claim perks at Caesars Windsor – one of the biggest casinos in Canada.

It’s an great time to be an online poker player in Ontario. Even Daniel Negreanu has expressed his excitement, saying:

“As a proud Ontario native, I’m thrilled that poker’s two greatest brands have come together to launch WSOP.CA and offer the Ontario poker community the perfect place to play online”.

What Happens to Existing GGPoker Players in Ontario?

Players in Ontario who are already registered with GGPoker will be able to transfer their accounts to WSOP.ca after the online poker room is launched. It’s an easy process that consists of the following steps:

  1. Log in to your GGPoker account.
  2. Consent to an automatic account transfer.

Other Online Poker Platforms Licensed by the AGCO

The majority of online operators that have received licenses from the ACGO are casino brands and sportsbooks. However, online poker fans will also have several options to choose from.

CoolBet, Unibet and 888 all offer online poker platforms. So, players in Ontario will have plenty of choice when it comes to picking the best online cardroom.

“This partnership combines the best poker brand with the top poker software, and we’re thrilled to launch this online poker room for Ontario players” – Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the WSOP.

Will Exclusive WSOP Bracelet Events Be Available to Canadians?

As we’ve seen in recent years at the World Series of Poker, several online events have provided players in New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware with the chance to win WSOP rings and bracelets. However, the brand has not confirmed whether or not similar events will be available to Ontario players at the upcoming World Series of Poker in May.

What we do know, however, is that Ontario online poker players will be able to take part in satellite tournaments. These will offer them the opportunity to win tickets into in-person World Series of Poker events later this year.

For all you Canadian readers out there, where will you be playing online poker this spring?
